I remember the first time I saw the dining table finished and in place—it just stopped me for a second. There’s something about how the ebony wood grain radiates outward; it draws you in, like a visual invitation to gather around it. We wanted the table to be both striking and practical—something that could handle quiet family dinners but also expand for bigger get-togethers. Versatility was really important. The round shape really encourages conversation; no one’s stuck at the end; it just feels easy and communal.
The space itself is grand with tall ceilings, so we brought the scale down a bit with the stone wainscoting. We also introduced suede wallcovering to soften the stone. And the glass pendants provide something whimsical and organic to balance the formality of the room.
We envisioned people lingering here—plates pushed aside, a bottle of wine on the table, laughter carrying through the space. That’s the goal, right? To design a room that makes people want to stay a little longer.
